Choice of paper as a basic material for 1Earth (1EA) is based on research data, strict priorities in the areas of usability, consumer accessibility, technological efficiency and environmental safety of our production.
According to the hierarchy of environmentally sustainable behaviour (so-called "5R"), each of the subsequent actions in the chain is less environmentally friendly than the previous one: Refuse (Refuse), Reduce (Reduce), Reuse (Reuse), Repurpose (Use for other purposes), Recycle ( Recycle).
Thus, a production that predominantly uses already recycled materials and minimizes the use of new (not yet processed, primary) resources is less environmentally harmful than a production that uses fresh raw materials for the manufacture of products (even for further processing).
In this sense, 1EA packaging is eco-friendly two-fold:
1) the containers are mostly made of paper (96-97%), and the lids are partially made of recycled plastic we use secondary renewable materials, reducing the consumption of new materials and saving the planet's resources;
2) both components of the packaging (both containers and lids) can be recycled using special equipment to produce recycled paper and plastic.
1EA packaging is an eco solution for those cases where disposable cannot be replaced by reusable, but at the same time the consumption of “new” raw materials is reduced to a minimum, and the entire production chain is built into the concept of a circular economy.
